Physiotherapist treating a patient in a clinic treatment room

Treatment that ends with you not needing us.

Hands-on physiotherapy for pain and injury, with a home programme from the first session. You do not need a doctor's referral to book — physiotherapy is a first-contact profession in South Africa.

What we treat

Most of it is backs, necks and knees.

Thabo treats musculoskeletal problems — the joints, muscles and nerves that make ordinary movement hurt.

  • Lower back pain and sciatica
  • Neck pain and cervicogenic headaches
  • Desk-posture and shoulder pain
  • Rotator cuff and frozen shoulder
  • Tennis and golfer's elbow
  • Runner's knee and IT band pain
  • Ankle sprains and Achilles pain
  • Plantar fasciitis
  • Post-operative rehabilitation
  • Hip and knee replacement recovery
  • Sports and overuse injuries
  • Pregnancy-related back and pelvic pain

If your problem turns out to need imaging, a specialist or a different discipline, we will tell you at the first appointment rather than at the sixth.

Your first appointment

Assessment first — treatment second.

The initial appointment is 45 minutes: history, a movement and strength assessment, and then treatment in the same session. You will be told what we think is causing the problem, in plain language, before anything is done about it.

  • Wear something you can move in. Shorts for a knee, hip or ankle; a vest for a shoulder or neck. There are gowns if you would rather change here.
  • An estimate of how many sessions. Given at the end of the first appointment. If we are wrong we will say so at the review rather than quietly rebooking you.
  • Dry needling only if you want it. It is offered where it helps, explained first, and never a condition of treatment.

Physiotherapy fees

Published, and the same for everyone.

We submit directly to most medical-aid schemes. Physiotherapy is usually paid from a day-to-day or savings benefit, so cover depends on what is left in yours.

Fees are per session and include the written home programme. How medical-aid billing works →

Practitioner details and registration numbers on this page are placeholders for demonstration.

This page is information, not a diagnosis. Nothing here replaces an individual assessment by a registered practitioner, and no outcome is promised or implied. If you have had a significant injury, or you have numbness, weakness or loss of bladder or bowel control, seek urgent medical attention rather than booking.

The other rooms

Often booked after physiotherapy.

Sore for long enough now?

Tell us where it hurts and how long it has been going on. Reception will come back with a time and an expected medical-aid shortfall.
