Cut while you wait

The counter

Walk past the rugs and keep going. Nothing back here is cut in advance, wrapped in plastic or left under a light all day.

Week of 3 August

What is on the board

The board changes on a Monday. Weights are cut to order, so the prices below are what a kilo or a wedge costs, not what a pre-packed tray costs.

Ring or message before nine on a Saturday if you want something specific held. The rib and the sourdough go first, every week, without fail.

Message us the night before

Most of what leaves this counter on a Saturday was spoken for on a Friday. It costs nothing to ask.

  • Say what and roughly how much. “Two kilos of rib, thick” is plenty. We will confirm the weight and the price before we cut.
  • Nothing is charged in advance. You pay at the counter when you collect, by card, cash or EFT.
  • We hold it until closing. If something comes up, tell us and we will put it back on the board rather than let it sit.

Come hungry, leave with a rug.

It happens more often than you would think. The counter is at the back, past the gallery.

Demonstration site. Wagenmakers Trading Co. is a fictional business created to show what a Travers & Co. retail website looks like. Photography, reviews, stock, prices and contact details are all placeholders. The list works, but sending it only opens WhatsApp — no payment is taken and no card details are asked for.
